What is an ADHD Assessment?
Our ADHD Assessments go beyond just identifying ADHD symptoms. They are comprehensive evaluations where we gather insights from multiple sources and examine various aspects of your life that might be hindering your well-being like low mood, or anxiety.
Is it really ADHD, or something else?
Our assessment doesn’t just stop at ADHD. We explore a range of psychological diagnoses to give you a thorough understanding of what’s affecting you. This way, you get the detailed insights needed to navigate your challenges effectively and live your best life.
What to Expect from Our ADHD Assessment
Personalized, Thorough Evaluation
On your assessment day, our clinician conducts a detailed interview, covering your personal history (family, medical, education, employment), diagnostic clinical interview, self-report questionnaires, and psychological testing. This holistic approach ensures we understand your unique experience.
In-Depth Understanding
We spend time talking directly with you, hearing your story in your own words. ADHD or other diagnoses are more than just symptoms on a checklist; we aim to grasp your journey comprehensively to provide the best possible outcomes.
Collateral Information for a Full Picture
To enrich our understanding, we gather additional information such as:
School report cards
Letters from family members
Medical records
Previous psychological or psychiatric assessment reports
Comprehensive Reporting
After completing the interview and questionnaires, your clinician prepares a detailed psychological assessment report summarizing all gathered information. Our reports include:
DSM psychological diagnosis(es)
Education about the diagnosis(es)
Targeted evidence-based treatment options
Self-directed and lifestyle changes
Work/School accommodations tailored to your needs
Detailed Review and Support
Your report is shared with you and reviewed thoroughly, giving you ample opportunity to ask questions and understand the conclusions and recommendations. You'll receive a copy of the full report for your records, and you can share it with other treatment providers, like your family doctor.
