Meet
Dr. Alanna Singer
Clinical Psychologist
Alanna’s warm and collaborative approach is all about helping clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.
Whether she’s working with children or adolescents, her goal is simple: to make life’s challenges feel more manageable and to improve quality of life. She’s passionate about understanding each client’s unique lived experiences, tailoring her strategies to meet them exactly where they are.
Alanna is extensively trained in evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and skillfully integrates techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). She focuses on issues like anxiety, emotion & behaviour dysregulation, and supporting family systems through change. With younger clients, she incorporates their interests into therapy and uses playful, game-based techniques to make sessions engaging and interactive.
Her passion for assessment shines through her work with neurodivergent populations, where she adopts a neurodiversity-affirming approach. From psychoeducational evaluations for learning disabilities, ADHD & autism to social-emotional assessments, Alanna is dedicated to helping clients and their families better understand themselves and find relief in their daily lives. She also provides parent coaching and consultation to help families feel confident and supported.
Alanna’s diverse experience includes her role as an assessment lead and therapist at Broadview Psychology, work with the Toronto District School Board, and practicum placements at CAP Centre, OISE Psychology Clinic, and more. Her time at Marcovitch & Associates and Psych-Ed Assessment Services further honed her expertise in assessments.
For Alanna, psychology is a true calling - not just a profession. She values the opportunity to connect with clients, listen to their stories, and make a meaningful difference.
