Dr. Goldie Millar

Clinical, School and Counselling Psychologist, Registered Psychologist

One of Dr. Millar's favourite things about her work is seeing others make positive changes.

Dr. Goldie Millar is a highly experienced Clinical, School and Counselling Psychologist with over two decades of experience in various settings. She has taken on leadership, supervisory, and advanced clinical roles in school, health, and community-based organizations, where she has used her knowledge to navigate complex systems, build stakeholder relationships, and promote change. Dr. Millar has a deep understanding of pedagogical, research, and empirical practices, which she leverages to help individuals and families achieve overall wellness.

As a committed practitioner working within an anti-racism and anti-oppression framework, Dr. Millar works collaboratively with individuals seeking support with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, work-related burnout, life stressors, and overall self-acceptance. She offers psychotherapy rooted in cognitive-behavioural (CBT), emotional-focused (EFT), and self-acceptance modalities, and she works from a place of deep respect, empathy, and caring for the whole person.

Dr. Millar completed her doctoral degree in psychology from the University of Toronto and has held direct service and leadership positions at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Lakeridge Health, and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. She currently provides psychological consultation to York Hills Centre for Child, Youth, and Families.

Outside of work, she’s also an accomplished author! Dr. Millar is the co-author of two children's books that support young children as they lean to name, understand, and express their various feelings. Her first book, "F Is for Feelings," is a Canadian bestseller, and her follow-up title, "1,2,3, My Feelings and Me," is a 2022 New York City Big Book Award winner.
