With over 25 years of experience working with children, youth, adults and families in a variety of settings, Karen has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to draw upon when working with clients.
What sets Karen apart is her commitment to working in partnership with her clients, tailoring her approach to meet their unique needs and goals. She uses a strength-based approach, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings. Karen is also an advocate for social justice, working from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and all-inclusive framework.
Karen's primary therapy modalities include talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT/DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness and Compassion Therapy. Her goal is to help clients develop resilience, self-compassion, and acceptance while promoting positive self-identity. Whether you're struggling with social anxiety, depression ADHD, work stress/burnout, grief/loss, or any other issue, Karen has the experience and skills to help you navigate life's challenges. She regularly works with children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and who identify as neurodivergent, providing support as they grow.
Karen is committed to ongoing professional development and sees herself as a lifelong learner. She believes in the importance of collaboration, working with clients to find the best approach to help them achieve their therapy goals.
